Properties

White odorless crystals or powder; weak acidity; insoluble in water, aqueous ammonia and ethanol; soluble in hydrochloric acid; decompose by heat to form potassium fluoride(KF) and silicon tetrafluoride(SiF4); hydrolyze in hot water to form hydrogen fluoride(HF) and silicate acid(H2SiO3); have toxic.

Application

Wood preservation; ceramics made; metallurgy of aluminum and magnesium; optical glass; synthetic mica and antisepsis

Storage

Store at a ventilating, and dry place, keep away from food.
